Yuva Yuga – Karnataka New Skill Training Scheme

State government of Karnataka launched “Yuva Yuga”, a new skill training scheme for providing technology skill training to youth so that they can meet the requirement of skilled jobs in the state. Under YUVA YUGA, above 10 lakh jobs will be created in the state and around 1.10 lakh youth would be trained under this Karnataka skill development program.

The Yuva Yuga skill training scheme would trained the youth in about 328 industrial skill. The Karnataka government;s skill development program Yuva Yuga was announced in 2015-16 and implementation process for registration and application would be started in current year.

Through Karnataka Yuva Yuga scheme, skill training centers will be opened across the state to provide skill training to youth and enable them for better jobs.

Skill training in many cutting edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and others would be provided to the youth with the assistance of Karnataka Department of IT, Biotech and Science & Technology. People up to 10 years of experience can join the Yuva Yuga training programs and enhance their skills for better employment opportunities.

The state is developing the youth in sectors such as manufacturing, animation, gaming, visual effects, telecom, etc and this types of initiative will help the government to develop new skilled talent to meet the increasing demand.


Vajra Faculty Scheme for NRI Scientists to Work in Indian Institutes for Research

Department of Science and Technology (DST) started (Visiting Advanced Joint Research) Vajra Faculty Scheme, a program which enables the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) scientist and overseas scientific community to participate and contribute in research and development in India for the time period of one month to three month.

Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), a Statutory body of the DST department would implement the scheme. Vajra Scheme is a kind of programme dedicated for NRI scientists.

The Visiting Advanced Joint Research (Vajra) faculty scheme is a dedicated programme for foreign scientists and academicians, with emphasis on NRI's to work as adjunct faculty in the government-funded academic and research institutions.

As per the information, VAJRA programme would draw a salary of $15,000 in the first month and $10,000 each in the remaining months.

"Indian scientists in abroad are feeling optimistic that with the new government in power, they will have top class facilities and a very conducive environment," he said.

The number of scientists under the programme has been capped at 1,000.

The government currently awards the Ramanujan Fellowship to Indian students and doctors working abroad. The fellowship is awarded for five years.


EESL UJALA Scheme in Amritsar - Get LED Bulb, Tube Light & Energy Efficient Fans

Ujala Yojana - Now LED bulb, LED tube light and five star energy efficient fans will be available in Amritsar Punjab as EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Limited) and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited launched UJALA scheme. These energy efficient products would be available in UJALA Scheme distribution centers.

- Ten 9W LED Bulbs - Rs 65 each,
- Five Energy Efficient Fans (50W BEE 5 Star Rated) (Ceiling Fans) - Rs 1,150 each
- Ten 20W LED Tube Lights - Rs 230 each.

The scheme will also be launched in Firozepur and Fazilka on June 30. The scheme was launched in January 2015 with focus of  replacing 77 crore inefficient bulbs with energy efficient LED bulbs.

Under the scheme, over 24.2 crore LED bulb, 25.1 lakh tube lights and 9 lakh fans have already been distributed across 27.

Mukhyamantri Nishulk Coaching Yojana - CM Free Coaching Scheme Rajasthan

Rajasthan government announced Chief Minister Free Coaching Scheme or Mukhyamantri Nishulk Coaching Yojana (मुख्यमंत्री निःशुल्क कोचिंग योजना) for providing free coaching to 11th and 12th class students to take admissions for higher educations. Couching will be provided to the students for taking admissions in IIT, IIM, LAW and national level medical and engineering colleges.

LIC Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana 2017-18 - Pension Scheme for Senior Citizens

LIC Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY), is new pension scheme for senior citizens launched by Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India on 4th May 2017. Under LIC PMVVY pension scheme, an interest of over 8% for 10 years would be provided to senior citizens (Above 60 years of age).

The scheme would be available for one year from the date of launch and the central government would provide subsidy under Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY).

- Loan:- Loan is available under the policy after completion of 3 policy years. Maximum loan granted will be 75% of the purchase price

Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) Overview

- Pensioner would receive the pension at the end of each time period (monthly/quarterly/half-yearly and yearly) chosen during policy purchase.
- Pension would be directly transferred to the pensioner’s bank account through NEFT or AEPS (Aadhar Enabled Payment System).
- If the pensioner dies during the policy term of 10 years, the purchase price would be refunded to the nominee of the beneficiary.
- Minimum age of entry in PMVVY is 60 years, there is no maximum age limit.

- Minimum pension is Rs. 1000 and maximum pension is Rs. 5000 per month.
- 98% of invested amount would be provided to the policy holder in case of premature exit. However, it is allowed only under exceptional circumstances like critical/terminal illness of self or spouse.
- Loan facility would be provided to the pensioner after the completion of 3 years of the policy under which loan amount would be maximum 75% of the invested amount.
- Lumpsum payment option is available to purchase the policy.
- No medical examination is required.

Amma Master Health Checkup Scheme Tamilnadu to Start in All Districts

Amma Master Health Checkup Scheme, launched in Tamil Nadu on 1 March 2017 for providing benefits of health checkup at low cost in government hospitals. Low cost health checkup facility under Amma Master Health Checkup Scheme is only available at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH), Chennai. Online registrations and appointments can be registered at and but facility would now be made available in different health institutions across the state.

Under the Amma Master Health Checkup scheme, facilities such as blood test, urine test, sugar test, thyroid test, screening for cholesterol, liver function would be available. Besides these tests,  diagnostic investigations like ECG, and USG abdomen would also be done at a very nominal fee.

From the launch of Amma Master Health Checkup scheme, over 16,500 people have been benefited and the health checkups are done on the first come first serve basis.

Free Smartphone Scheme for Jharkhand Panchayat Workers

New free smartphone scheme in Jharkhand for Panchayat workers has been announced and Chief Minister Raghubar Das promised to give free smartphones to panchayat swayam sevak under the scheme. The smartphones under the Jharkhand new scheme would be distributed by the PM Narendra Modi among the members of Sakhi mandals in Sahibganj in April.

The smartphone scheme for panchayat workers was announced during the Panchayat Swayam Sevak’s meet  and the title of meet was “Sarkar Aapke Dwar” at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Dhurva. Jharkhand rural development minister urged the CM to launch such scheme for Panchayat workers.

The smartphone scheme launched with objective of empowering the Panchayat Swayam Sevak and aware them towards digital technology. The initiative would help the Panchayat Workers seamlessly connect and communicate with the other government departments.

In the central government’s flagship housing scheme “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana”, the Panchayat Swayam Sevaks would also be paid their contribution in the implementation of the scheme. And the government would develop about 2.2 lakh houses across the state under PMAY-Urban.
